Over the past week, I’ve been overwhelmed by the feedback to my Manifesto for Jewish Power in Canada:
I was also proud to have it featured on the Future of Jewish Substack:
Many of you have written to say it captured exactly how you’ve been feeling: frustrated with the status quo, hungry for bold ideas, ready to do more than just react. That energy is powerful; I don’t want it to fade.
Starting tomorrow, I’m launching a five-part series to expand on some of the ideas in the Manifesto. Each essay will dig deeper into a core area where we can stop playing defence and start building Jewish strength in Canada: in our schools, culture, philanthropy, politics, and how we take to the streets.
One essay a day, for five days, each one with a plan and a purpose.
Why? Because we need to be excellent. Not adequate. Not “good enough.” Excellent. We need to build a community so strong, so confident, and so unapologetically proud that antisemitism becomes irrelevant.
This week is about turning outrage into action, and words into a roadmap.
Tomorrow, we start.
Thanks all for your support thus far.
One humble ask: if you are not already a subscriber, consider subscribing. If you are a free subscriber, consider becoming a paid subscriber so that I have more resources to put into this endeavour. I don’t intend to personally profit from this project, but rather ensure that I have sufficient resources to grow Catch in the months to come. Otherwise, please share widely with your Canadian friends and family so that we can continue to grow our ideas-based community.
Am Yisrael Chai
I’m totally in support of free day school - but how do you propose making this happen?
