Adding Responsibility to Remembrance is a super idea! I had already, sadly, dropped the ‘N’ from Never Again. Encouraging us to set goals to enact our individual and collective responsibility to control evil human inclinations at least gives us some agency, and homework.
Thank you so much for this wonderful article. Mr. Eisner was my fifth grade teacher and his stories of the Holocaust still come back to me every few months. He helped us to bear witness and made it impossible to ever forget. He was a kind and gentle man who had suffered enormously. Z”L
